About the Author

Raymond McHenry founded IN OTHER WORDS in 1991, and continues to do all of the research and writing. His two books, McHenry's Quips, Quotes & Other Notes, and McHenry's Stories for the Soul are a compilation of over 2,500 stories and jokes taken from his quarterly publication called IN OTHER WORDS. Dr. McHenry is the pastor of Westgate Memorial Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas. Prior to his coming there in 1998, he was the pastor of Gulf Meadows Baptist Church in Houston, Texas from 1987 - 1998. Pastor McHenry grew up in Arizona and graduated from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. His Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry degrees were both earned at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Additional training was taken in Clinical Pastoral Education at Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas and Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Raymond and Michelle McHenry are the proud parents of a teenage daughter, Meagan, and a pre-teen son, Myles. As a family they enjoy swimming, skiing, hiking, and just spending time together.
